Please see below for summaries of the laws that will go into effect at the first of the new year. ALABAMA Effective Date: January 1, 2017 Entities Affected: Limited Partnerships House Bill 202, effective January 1, 2017, repeals the current limited partnership law and enacts a new Alabama Limited Partnership Law, affecting all aspects of that business entity type in Alabama. CALIFORNIA Effective Date: January 1, 2017 Entities Affected: LLCs Assembly Bill 1722, effective January 1, 2017, amends the LLC law regarding requirements for authorizing dissolution. Effective Date: January 1, 2017 Entities Affected: Corporations and LLCs Senate Bill 1171, effective January 1, 2017, enacts non-substantive amendments to the corporation and LLC laws.
