Posted on August 5, 2016 by There is a new business tax in the state of Nevada, the Commerce Tax, and every business must file an initial tax return by August 15, 2016. Although the tax is imposed on businesses with a Nevada gross revenue exceeding $4 million in the taxable year, all businesses are required to file a Commerce Tax Return, regardless of liability. Businesses may file a return online or in hard copy. You can access the tax return form and an online filing portal by visiting the Nevada Department of Taxation’s filing center here. Note, businesses requiring extra time may apply in writing to the Department of Taxation for a 30-day extension. More information, including FAQ’s and training videos, are available on the Nevada Department of Taxation’s website. We’re here to help! Please feel free to contact CLAS with any questions.
